Steve was absolutely instrumental in both selling our home and finding us a new home. We met Steve at an open house, 4 years ago. Peter and I knew instantly that Steve had the style and personality that would be a perfect fit for us. He really listened to what we were both looking for (not just Peter, like some others).

Over the years, he patiently provided valuable information, including market trends and relevant listings. During open houses, we loved that he had the design background and vision to highlight each home’s true potential - and help us notice things we might otherwise have missed. We never felt pressured and always knew that he genuinely wanted to find us the perfect house….whenever we were ready.

When that time came, not only did he find us the home of our dreams, he also ensured we were literally the first ones to see it. Later that day, the house was ours (despite plenty of interest). Steve was pivotal in defining our winning strategy.

Then it was time to sell. There was some decluttering (OK, a lot) and Steve was an invaluable partner in getting everything done. He is very unique in the market. We’ve worked with agents before, but have never experienced this level of service. Steve is a one-stop-shop to getting a home staged beautifully. He took control (in the most good natured way), was reliable and worked quickly and cost effectively. He has the experience to cover all aspects of the sale. In particular his design sense blew us away. He has a clear idea of what appeals to sellers and designed a completely upgraded look. After the staging, I barely recognized our house, and wondered why we didn’t do it earlier! His team exemplifies the same degree of integrity and service as Steve. They helped me with so much.

Throughout the showings, Steve always kept us updated and and provided impressive insight and experience in dealing with the offers. We couldn’t have been more thrilled with the outcome. In fact, our home broke a record and has the highest selling price on our street to date!

If you are buying and/or selling your home, there is no better partner to have on board. Steve’s calm, confident and professional demeanour helped alleviate the stress of what can be a chaotic time. And his sense of humour made the experience a lot more fun! Steve, our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for going way above and beyond at every step. “Finding the right real estate agent is quite a challenge! Especially when the house being sold is a family home of 65 years and the childhood home of the individual tasked with selling it! 

Steve Essam was recommended by several friends and neighbours, and after interviewing a number of real estate agents, my husband and I knew that Steve was the best choice for us. In addition to his real estate experience, he also has a background as a designer, contractor and decorator, all of which came into play during the process of preparing the house for sale. 

 During our interview Steve listened to our questions and concerns and answered them clearly. He also pointed out other issues of which we should be aware. Steve asked us questions so that he could better understand our needs with regard to selling the house. His manner was calm, approachable and professional. 

 What made the process of selling the house especially challenging was the volume of possessions my mother had accumulated, many of which were stored in a large basement, in suitcases and boxes in closets. Steve suggested that I remove the items I wanted to keep and then he would deal with the rest of it. I absolutely could not have managed to clear out the house without Steve and his team. 

 Steve did a wonderful job staging our older home using some of the existing furniture and accessories as well as removing carpeting to show the vintage wooden floors that had been hidden. In addition, he brought in a few other accessories to highlight our home for open house purposes. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the result!
